last year at Pt England school.

Kia Ora. I am a year 8 student at Pt England and I am in room 19.  This year will be my last year attending Pt England school.  I first started here at the age of 5 and I was a year 1.  I'm looking forward to going to college next year but I am going to miss all of my friend's here and the teachers to.

Saying good bye to my friends and teachers is going to be sad because it is going to be my last year attending Pt England school.  I'm going to miss my friends, Jorja, Lisia, Wakatere, Anamei, Henry and Ane hanging out with them has been fun I am going to miss our fun times with them.

I would like to say a huge "BYE" to the one and only best teacher Ms Tito. Ms Tito so far is one of my best teacher's.  The one thing I didn't like in my class was the lectures that Ms Tito had given us.

Next year I'm looking forward to college.  The school I will be attending next year is Auckland girls grammar School. I cant wait for next year, Next year I wan't to achieve all of my goals. My goals I want to achieve Next year are to improve in Maths and Reading.

This year the thing I have enjoyed the most is spending my time with my friends. Leaving this school and going to college is exciting for me but I am going to miss everything I have done here and learnt here.

Year 8 camp 2013.

The exiting moment us year 8's were all waiting for "CAMP". The camp grounds us year 8's were staying at was Keswick Christian camp witch is in Rotorua. We went to Keswick Christian camp because it was our last year together at pt England school so we went to camp to spend time together. We all went down to Rotorua in 2 bus's with teachers and parent helpers.

We got to Keswick camp grounds and meet a man who worked there his name was Simon. Simon told us were every thing was like the toilets and kitchen and some rules. We all were put in to groups my group was T.F.K witch means "The Fashion Killers". After we were all in our groups we all girls went into our cabins and the boys went into here cabins.

The most thing that challenged me the most was on the first day we all went on a long bush walk. The bush walk was tiering and hard, My legs were saw from going up the hills and down the hills. There was one thing that was fun for me witch was getting to the end of the trail and hoping on to the bus and having a rest.

My highlight of camp was the sheep show I enjoyed the sheep show because we got to see different types of sheep's. My favourite sheep that I liked was the Merino, The Merino had thick hair and big horns. My favourite thing at the sheep show was patting the animals and feeding the little lamb milk.
 

Net Book reflection.

This year has been the third year our school Pt England have been working on Net Books. Working on Net Books are easier than using a pencil and paper. My favourite thing to do on my Net Book is going on maths whiz. Searching thing's up on the internet are easy, So if I don't know what a word means I go on Google and search what the definition of it means. The help of the internet is great because we get to Google thing's we don't know about.

The thing I have learnt on my Net Book in he past three years is how to use Google docs and blogger. One thing I have learnt by myself on my Net Book is how to use photo bucket and many other sites. In my classroom we sometimes work in partners and work together and one thing I have learnt from my friends is to help each other when they need help on the internet.

This year I have helped people on there Net Books by telling them how to create new things on there Net Books if they don't know how to. We go on maths whizz and every thing by using internet and many other things by using internet. On my Net Book I have learnt on the internet what many words mean.

This year I have managed myself using my Net Book by being at the right place at the right time. I don't have to get wait for my teacher to tell me what to do I can just get up and do my work.

Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918 in Mvezo South Africa, Nelson Mandela has six children. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela is is full name. Nelson Mandela passed away on the 5th of December 2013, Nelson Mandela  was the first dark South African President and fought to stop racism.  He spent 27 years in prison, released in 1990 and went on to become president of South Africa.

Nelson's middle name "Rolihlahla" Is translate literally to "pulling the branch of a tree" or "trouble maker".When Nelson was 16 years old he was told by the regent that it was time for him to become a man. With his Xhosa knowledge he knew this meant one thing"circumcision". The name Nelson was given to him on his first day at school by his teacher, Miss Mdingane. 

Nelson Mandela was arrested on the 5th of August . Mandela was arrested in 1962 and was also sentenced for five years. 7 November 1962 Sentenced to five years for leaving the country without a passport and incitement.

During his years in prison, Nelson Mandela's reputation grew steadily. Nelson Mandela was released on February 11, 1990. After 27 years of his life in prison Mandela was ushered into a secret meeting with the south african president.

Nelson Mandela, Who Passed away at the age 95, 05/12/2013. Nelson Mandela was a great man who stopped racism and brought freedom and peace to the blacks and whites.

What iv'e learnt about nelson Mandela is what he has brought to the world. Mandela brought Peace and freedom to the world and made changes to black and white people. I have also learnt when he was born and everything else about him.

My highlights of the year.

1st highlight: My first favourite highlight of the year was picking flax. The reason why I liked picking flax was because  it is fun. We all had to pick a flax each and we all went back to school. When we got to school we weaved it and that part was really fun. When we were weaving the flax it was really complicating but fun at the same time.

2nd highlight: My second highlight of the year was Tuakana Reading . I enjoyed Tuakana Reading because we got to teach little kids how to read and read books with them. We always used to go to the library every tuesdays and read with little kids in room 9. We had to get a little kid from room nine every week and read different books with them every week.

3rd highlight: My third highlight of the year was basketball. I liked basketball because we got to learn new moves. In basketball we learnt heaps of cool moves and got to play some cool basketball games. Basketball is fun, We meet some new basketball coaches and they all taught us different things each week.

Sloth story

One early sunny morning Gary the sloth was eating his favorite meal to eat which is leaves up in his tree which is his home. Gary has friends that he plays with sometimes when he has the energy. As he was eating in the tree he heard a strange noise, The noise sounded like something like a tree branch cracking. Gary could hear the noise coming from up high in the tree.

Gary was getting a bit scared because the noise was getting louder and louder, Gary looked up and saw that a little beaver was trying to saw one of his branch’s. It was a really big branch. The branch almost fell on Gary, But Gary’s friend Mandy the monkey pushed him out of the way so that he didn't get hit by the big branch.

As time was getting on Gary started eating his leaves, As he was eating his leaves the beaver came over and took all of Gary’s leaves. When the biever took all of Gary’s leaves Gary was really tired and couldn't go after the biever. Gary was really hungry at that time and he wanted his leaves back. Gary called out to Mandy the monkey to go after him and get his leaves back

Mandy chased after the little beaver and snatched the leaves out of the beavers hand. Many ran back to Gary and gave the leaves to him, Gary was surprised and happy at the same time because he was really hungry and that was his last meal for the day as well. So Gary went of to sleep after he had finished his last meal.

A day at the beach.

It started of with an ugly day with rain and grey clouds, But as time was getting on the grey clouds were going and the rain had stooped. The sun had come out but there were still some clouds that it was not as hot, It was also really windy.

Me and my friend Andrea decided to go to the beach with our friend Unique. We meet up with our friend and we all went down to the beach and were taking photos and were playing in the sand.

We were going to have a swim but it was a bit to cold and windy to have a swim so we didn't swim. We weren't swimming so we climbed the trees at the beach.

After climbing the trees Andrea decided to make her own little fishing rod out of a stick and some long piece of string that she found. After she had made her own little fishing rod we went to go and play on the park.

We had enough of the beach and were tired and cold from the wind. I had fun at the beach with my two friends Andrea and Unique. We left the beach and went back home to have a rest from our day at the beach.

Creative Strand Reflection.

At the start of term 3 the year 7 & 8's have had the chance to do a new literacy rotation. There are 2 groups for as to work in 1 is Creative strand witch is were you make movies and do some art work. The other group is Literacy and you do writing and reading. 

I really like this new rotation that we have been doing because we get to work with different teachers. My favourite thing I like to do the most in creative strand is art. I like to do art because art is fun because we get to do creative things.

Cross Country.

On Thursday we had a school fun run Cross Country. At 12:15 we had to get ready in to our colours that we had been put into. The name of the colours were, Takitimu (yellow), Te Arawa (Red), Tainui(BLUE) and Mataatua witch is GREEN.

When we had finished getting into our cross country colours we had to line up outside our class room. We were walking to the courts were the whole school was sitting,we had to sit in rows of boys and girls and what year we were and I was in the year 8 girls row.

First Mr Burt Was talking to us about were we where going to run and then he did a pray. All of the little kids did there cross country and then us big kid's had to run the year 7's ran 3 k's and the year 8's ran 3.5 k's. When I got up to the start line and Mr Burt said " ON YOUR MARK'S GET SET GO" and I ran and we ran around the field and then ran down to the reserve and around the reserve.

We had to run around the field and reserve 2 times. I thought that the Cross country fun run was really fun because it was really mud on the reserve and people were sliding in the mud and we were getting muddy. We even got to run in a huge puddle of water it was cool. I really enjoyed myself doing cross country.

Favourite NRL Team.

My favourite Team form NRL is the Vodafone Warriors. The resin why I like the Vodafone Warriors Is because they are the only New Zealand NRL team. If you didn't know what NRL means it mean's National Rugby League.

Information About The Vodafone Warriors.

The Vodafone Warriors (National Rugby League Team) Are now coming in 9th place on the leader bored so far. There first home game this year was on Sat, Mar 9 5:30 PM agents the Parramatta Eels there next game will be on the 3rd of August agents the Cronulla Sharks. The score for the Warriors and Sharks game was (Warriors)14 and the (Sharks)18. 

Fairy Tale - The Three Little Pig's

Once upon a time there lived an old wolf called Anthony. He lived in a huge mansion in New York. He liked to pick up rubbish because he liked to live in a clean environment. Anthony the wolf liked to help people, but only if they were kind.

One day Anthony  was minding his own business when he noticed a house made out of straw on his property. He felt disrespected because the person who had built the straw house didn’t ask for permission. The person turned out to be a rude little pig. He kindly said to the pig “can you please remove your straw house from my property?” But the pig said “no way!” So then Anthony the wolf had no other choice but to blow down the house made out of straw. The pig said “ you're not tough enough to blow down my house”. Anthony blew down the house built with straw. The pig said”paw you have smelly breath” .

So he ate the pig. He said mmm yummy yummy. The next day Anthony came across another house this time the house was made out of sticks. He kindly asked if the pig could remove the house made out of sticks. But the pig said “ you don't have the strength to blow my house down”. Anthony had no other choice but to blow the house down. The little pig was scared. Anthony blew his house down and ate the little pig.

A couple of days after Anthony saw a third house and this time the house was  made out of bricks. Anthony kindly asked the little pig to remove the house off his property but the little pig said “no I want to live here”. In determination the pig did not give up. The wolf had no choice but to blow down the little pig’s house, With all his might and strength he tried to blow as hard as he could but the brick house would not bust down. The wolf was very upset that he couldn't blow down the brick house. The little pig was very happy because he could leave his brick house on the wolf’s property. Instead of blowing the brick house down he burnt it. By the time the half of the house has burnt the little pig ran away and he never came back. So the wolf tidied up the house and went to bed and that has the end of the three little pig’s.

Silent Sustain Writing.

It was a cold, dark, gloomy night. I stumbled upon an abandoned hut deep in the heart of the forest. I was just about to enter the hut, when suddenly I heard a noise. It sounded like a big huge big foot was walking around near my hut. The noise started to get louder. I felt scared.

As it was getting louder it was getting closer. I saw a big shadow coming towards the hut. I turned around and it was staring right at me. I screamed and went into the hut but it busted it down. I ran for my life but it was chasing after me. I ran as fast as I could to try and find a hiding spot. When I was trying to find a hiding spot I saw a stairway down into the ground, it was my only chance to hide away from this thing. I heard it stomping around.

As it was stomping around I was looking around in this underground place that I was in and I tipped a glass of water over and the Big foot heard. It smashed and he saw the stairway. What was I going to do next?

League skills.

This term my class room 19 have had the chance to have to play league and learn some skills. We go to league every Thursday's on the field or in the hall if it is raining. So far we have learnt how to kick and catch a rugby ball.

I have been enjoying the great skills, fitness and also some games we play we have been doing in league. I can't wait to go to our next league skills and have some fun and learn more great skills.

cooking competition narrative.

One day Jessie and his friend Katie were cooking in the kitchen like they were at MKR (My Kitchen Rules). They were both having a competition and Jessie’s mum, dad and his aunt were going to judge the food. Once they were both finished there cooking the judge's said you's should sign an application for MKR. They were thinking "yes we should we have always wanted to go on MKR". So they thought about it for a minute and they decided to go and get an application and sign it.

A few weeks went past and they got a mail in the letter box saying that there were not enough spaces to join MKR. They were really sad when they read that letter, but they were still cooking like they were on MKR and they never gave up on cooking they carried on even though they didn't make it in to MKR.

Fun Run Practice.

For the last two weeks the year 7's and 8's have been doing a fun run practice. We have to run around the whole Pt England Reserve. 

On the first week my time going around the whole reserve was 9:48sec and on the second week I improved my time and I got 6:54 sec. 

I am doing good than I thought I was doing I am really proud of myself. The reason we are doing this fun run is to fundraise for our year 8 camp at the end of the year.  

What's really in our food?

This tearm the senior block have been investigating What's really in our food?. So my class have had the chance to investigate some words and what they mean and do to your body. My words that I have been investigating is Nutrient-dense foods and Cholesterol. These words are a bit hard to investigate but I am still trying my hardest to do these words. This is my presentation that I have created myself.

This story is like my life because I sometimes have boring holidays and sometimes I don’t. The character’s in this story are Judy, Aunt Opal, frank, stink, rocky. These are all the characters I have read in this story yet.

When I read the part about when Judy and her friends try to find big foot I was thinking I wonder if they will find big foot. I think the main character, Judy Moody looks like her aunt Opal.

Xtramath.

For the last two weeks my class have been doing Xtramath. On the first week I was on addition and I was trying my hardest to get up to the next level "subtraction" and I got up to subtraction on the 2nd week so I'm doing a bit good.
